Baltimore’s Damond Blue is no stranger to life’s grimmer realities and hardships. As an adolescent, he was drawn into the street life but discovered rapping as an outlet when a studio opened nearby a corner he hustled on. Blue formed a duo with his childhood best friend, Gregory ‘Eastside’ Wilson and by the age of 16, the two were releasing music and performing live to positive reception. Tragedy struck when at 19, Wilson was murdered in a gang-related incident, prompting Blue to choose music over the streets once and for all. Widely regarded by music veterans and insiders as one of Baltimore’s hottest talents, Damond Blue’s stock is rising fast.
